BIOCARDIA ANNOUNCES ISSUANCE OF TWO PATENTS ON BIOTHERAPEUTIC DELIVERY TO THE HEART

BioCardia, Inc. announces the issuance of US Patent No. 6,726,654 entitled “System and method for delivering thermally sensitive and reverse-thermal gelation materials”. The patent, describes systems and methods for the delivery of controlled release polymers which change viscosity at different temperature enabling their delivery through catheters in an interventional setting.
BioCardia also announces the issuance of US Patent No. 6,726,242 entitled “Catheter Drug Delivery System and Method for Use”. The patent, describes a means to trigger delivery of a set amount of a therapeutic agent from within a chamber of the heart to a target site in the heart of a patient.
